PHILIPPE COUTINHO has been named in Liverpool’s Champions League squad after failing to secure a late move to Barcelona.

Coutinho is understood to be devastated at the move falling through and doesn’t want to return to England.

But Liverpool have named on their list for the Champions League this term after securing a place in the group stages.

Liverpool beat Hoffenheim over two legs after finishing fourth in the Premier League.

And they were drawn against Spartak Moscow, Sevilla and Maribor.

Coutinho is yet to play for Liverpool this season with Jurgen Klopp claiming he has been injured.

However he played and scored for Brazil last week making those words appear unreliable.

Coutinho was tracked by Barcelona all summer and four bids were made before a scramble on deadline day.

Barcelona have claimed Liverpool were ready to start negotiating at £180m while the Anfield club have rejected that theory.

Coutinho submitted a transfer request after a £90m bid was turned down the day before the start of the Premier League season.

Since then at least one bid was made while others were speculated about.

But he remains a Liverpool until at least January and he will be expected to return to Merseyside this week and could play against Manchester City on Saturday.
