Alexis Sanchez has given Arsenal an injury scare

Sanchez is with Chile but may now miss tomorrow night’s game with Bolivia.

Sanchez is said to have left training with an ice pack on his left ankle and will be evaluated by the medical staff.

He has made just one appearance for Arsenal this season after being given time off following the Confederations Cup.

And Sanchez tried to seal a deadline day move to Manchester City after agreeing terms on a deal worth £300,000 a week.

The 28-year-old is understood to be furious at being blocked from making the move.

And Arsenal may have to deal with another problem if his injury keeps him sidelined for the coming weeks.

Chile medics are said to be hopeful he can play a part in Tuesday’s World Cup qualifier, although Arsenal will be worried if he’s played when not fully fit.

Sanchez posted a serious of bizarre messages on Instagram last night, seemingly relating to his failed transfer.

Arsenal chief Ivan Gazidis has claimed keeping Sanchez, along with Mesut Ozil, is a sign of Arsenal’s ambitions.

“It was a clear statement of our ambitions and should help refute suggestions we are just about the money,” he said.

“That is simply nonsense.”

Although Arsenal sold Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for £35m to Liverpool, Gazidis believes the club is in great shape.

He said: “At the end of the window, reviewing all activity, we have once again improved the quality and depth of our squad.”
