Arsenal news: Gunners plan contract talks with three players following summer shambles

ARSENAL want to avoid a situation similar to the one they have with Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.

Wenger confident of Sanchez commitment this season

Both Sanchez and Ozil are out of contract at Arsenal next summer, meaning they will be allowed to leave for free.

Interested clubs can begin pre-contract talks with either player in January, and they would be able to command a huge salary given the absence of a transfer fee.

Arsenal were able to bring in money for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who left for Liverpool on transfer deadline day for £35million.

It has left Arsenal in a precarious position with their star players seemingly looking for an exit from the Emirates.

But the Daily Mail claim Arsenal are already beginning plans to avoid a similar situation presenting itself the following season.

Aaron Ramsey, Danny Welbeck and Theo Walcott are among a number of players who will enter the final year of their deals in 2018.

Olivier Giroud also has one year remaining on his contract and was heavily linked with a move away from Arsenal this summer, before opting to stay and battle for his place.

But Huss Fahmy was hired earlier this summer to work on player contracts last month.

And it is reported he will begin work on tying down new deals for the Arsenal players close to the end of their current contracts.
