The 25-year-old beat the offside trap and was fortunate when the Uganda goalkeeper spilled his initial effort before tapping in the rebound.

He now has three goals for Egypt in their four World Cup qualifying matches and his strike moved his country back to the top of their group.

And the Anfield faithful will be hoping Salah can continue his excellent form when Liverpool take on Manchester City this weekend.

One player Liverpool fans will keeping an eye on after the international break is Philippe Coutinho who, despite not featuring for the Reds in their opening matches, played and scored for Brazil in their win over Ecuador on Friday.

Jurgen Klopp has hinted the 25-year-old could return to the fold in their match against Pep Guardiola’s side.

"We still have a really good player in the squad who can play," he told German media outlet SPORT1.
