Alexis Sanchez insists he's ready to play for Arsenal

Sanchez returned from international duty at the end of last week and was in training yesterday.

And he’s sent Arsene Wenger a message claiming he’s ready to play despite his failed move to Manchester City.

Arsenal agreed to sell Sanchez to City to £55m on the basis of them bringing in a replacement.

But the deal for Thomas Lemar fell through at the 11th hour meaning Sanchez was forced to stay put.

And Sanchez has now posted a message on Instagram saying he’s ready to go straight back into the team.

“I’m ready for tomorrow,” read the caption of an image of him in training at London Colney yesterday.

Sanchez has 12 months left on his contract and is likely to leave in the summer if not January.

But former Gunner Paul Merson reckons he will stay play to his potential for Arsenal.

“I can’t see him being happy,” Merson said on Sky Sports. “I can’t see him being happy, it was a big bid.

“His contract is nearly up, they’ve let Oxlade-Chamberlain go.

“I think he will be very unsettled but he only plays one way.

“He works his socks off and I think he will give his all for the club for probably another six months.”

Sanchez featured in the 4-0 humiliation at the hands of Liverpool in his only appearance for Arsenal this season.

And he now looks likely to be involved in today’s game at home to Bournemouth as Arsenal look to stop the rot after falling to back-to-back defeats.
