Real Madrid News: Karim Benzema eying Arsenal move as way out of La Liga - report

REAL MADRID star Karim Benzema is keen on a move to Arsenal, according to reports.

Benzema has been repeatedly linked with a move to Arsenal dating back to his time as a youngster in Ligue 1 with Lyon.

The 29-year-old is under the spotlight in Spain with Real Madrid so far off the pace in La Liga.

Los Blancos slipped to a disappointing 1-1 draw with Levante on Saturday in a result that saw them slip further behind fierce rivals Barcelona.

Benzema went off after sustaining a hamstring injury but the France international’s wastefulness cost Zinedine Zidane’s side dear once again.

And Spanish outlet Don Balon claims Benzema is keen on a move to Arsenal.

The Gunners signed the striker’s compatriot Alexandre Lacazette in the summer.

But it appears Benzema still harbours hopes of moving to Arsene Wenger’s side further down the line.

Whether he is needed right now, however, remains to be seen.

Real Madrid News: Karim Benzema is on the wane

There can be no denying that, on his day, the 29-year-old is up there with the best strikers in world football.

The club allowed Alvaro Morata to depart for Chelsea and also let the promising Mariano Diaz go to Lyon.

Yet both were arguably better fits for Zidane than Benzema despite the striker’s lofty reputation.
