Coutinho made his first start of the season as Liverpool drew 1-1 with Burnley at Anfield.

But the Brazilian playmaker had to come off with 10 minutes of the game to go with cramp.

Klopp was pleased with Coutinho’s performance against the Clarets and admits he did not plan on taking the 25-year-old off.

The Liverpool manager said: “Philippe was a really good game.

“He had a little cramp at the end. We did not plan to take him off but we had to decide differently."

Jurgen Klopp

Klopp, who took charge at Anfield in October 2015, admits that’s the best he’s seen his side play against Burnley since his arrival.

Liverpool have played Burnley twice under Klopp, losing one and winning the other.

"It's the best we have played against Burnley since I have been in,” Klopp added.

“In the past we didn't feel good in the game. Today I saw fluid movements, passing between the lines, speed, crosses.

"We have to take the point and carry on.”
