Emre Can was terrible against Burnley - Kamara

13:40: Chris Kamara has slammed Emre Can for his performance in Liverpool's 1-1 draw with Burnley yesterday.

“I noticed a change in style (from Burnley), obviously there’s going to be backs to the wall games but certainly this time around, when there was an opportunity to attack and put people in forward positions, then they are doing it,” Kamara said.

“We looked at the goal yesterday, the Scott Arfield goal, look at this, three strikers you’d have to say against the back four.

“The player who we’ve circled there is the goalscorer Scott Arfield and his marker, Emre Can.

“If this ball goes out to the right hand side, you watch Emre Can who’s with him now, then he goes with him.

“But it doesn’t, it goes to the opposite side. So all of a sudden, Emre Can, as the marker, ball watches.

“Scott Arfield is in the position behind him, they win the header there, they might get a little bit of luck for the ball to get through that gap, but look at Arfield now, coming in on his own.

“Emre Can knows now while he’s on the D that he should have gone with him.

“He didn’t and it’s an excellent finish.”

Reds should have had penalty - Kamara

11.40: Liverpool should ‘definitely’ have had a penalty late on in their 1-1 draw with Burnley yesterday, according to Chris Kamara.

However, Kamara believes it was nearly impossible for the officials to see the incident clearly.

“Yes they should (have had a penalty) but this is so difficult for the officials,” he said on Goals on Sunday.

“This is one of those things where we talk about more technology in the game and only technology would see this.

“As far as the assistant is concerned, the ref can’t see it from his position, when that ball goes to the right, he thinks that Ben Mee has won it.”

Coutinho wanted Barcelona move

10:50: Philippe Coutinho has admitted to being interest in joining Barcelona.

“What happened was a job offer and, in life, sometimes you get interested, sometimes you don’t, and in my case, as everybody knows, I got interested, my family too,” Coutinho told ESPN Brazil.

“But as I’ve always said, it’s a great honour to receive an offer from such a great club like that, but it’s also a great honour being here, Liverpool is great club worldwide.

“Now I’m here and I’ll give my best, as always.”

Mane interest

10:25: Sadio Mane is a transfer target for Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus.

Coutinho's Barcelona doubts

10:00: Philippe Coutinho says he doesn’t know if he will end up at Barcelona next season.

When asked by ESPN Brazil if he could replicate Luis Suarez in staying at Anfield for one season then moving to Barcelona, he said: “Not that I know of.

“I’m in a place that I’ve always been respected by everyone and me too respected everyone, conquered my space through this 4, 5 years and never had any problems with nobody here, the fans, teammates, the board, the coaching staff and that haven’t changed a bit.

“Like I said, in every job you get an offer, you get interested or not.”
