That is the view of pundit and former Liverpool defended Phil Babb.

Klopp became Liverpool manager in October 2015 but is yet to win a trophy in his reign.

He has reached two finals, the League Cup and Europa League in 2016, but lost both to Manchester City and Sevilla respectively.

Liverpool start their Carabao Cup campaign against Leicester at the King Power Stadium tonight (7.45pm).

Babb says this competition is important for Jurgen Klopp as it gives a good chance of providing fans with a first trophy since 2012.  

“I think there is immense pressure,” Babb said on Sky Sports.

“Certainly at a club like Liverpool

“He’s got to two finals - the Europa League final and the League Cup final - and failed in both of them. The club want silverware.

“They’re not a club that really wants to settle on fourth place and getting into the Champions League year in year out. They have to be bringing back trophies. 

“There is pressure, as there is on all managers, but I think Liverpool have been so good in this competition, they need to do it again this season.”

Liverpool visit Leicester again this coming Saturday, this time in the Premier League (5.30pm).

They then travel to Russia early next week for their Champions League group stage match at Spartak Moscow next Tuesday.
