Man Utd News: Paul Pogba injury is a big blow but Red Devils can cope - Gary Neville

MANCHESTER UNITED losing Paul Pogba to injury is a big blow but Jose Mourinho’s team can cope without him, according to Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville.

Pogba ignores hamstring injury to dance around dressing room

Manchester United have started the season in ruthless form, scoring 16 Premier League goals from their first five games.

While Romelu Lukaku has enjoyed a stunning start to life at Manchester United, the performances of Pogba have also caught the eye.

The France international got off the mark quickly in games against West Ham and Swansea but now faces a spell on the sidelines after injuring his hamstring.

But Neville, speaking to Sky Sports, thinks that Jose Mourinho has enough strength in depth to survive the absence of the 24-year-old.

Gary Neville

"He's a big miss," he said

"You talk about characters and personality on the pitch, Pogba always wants the ball and always believes in himself. Even if it's not going well for him he'll try the next pass.

"He has taken some stick over the last 12 months in terms of his price tag and the expectation of what people believe he should be delivering.

"He'll probably admit himself that last season he fell below his standards but he started off this season brilliantly.

"You're going to lose players during the season, you've got to overcome it. United will have to cope with that."

And Mourinho is expected to tinker with his team, with Michael Carrick and Ander Herrera in line for some much-needed game time.
