Marcus Rashford: Man Utd star is up there with Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele - Neville

MARCUS RASHFORD should be talked about in the same breathe as Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele.

Lukaku and Rashford could be the next Yorke and Cole

That’s according to former Manchester United and Everton star Phil Neville.

Rashford scored twice in last night’s 4-1 win over Burton with Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial grabbing the other goals.

But it was the 19-year-old who stole the show for United as he lead the line for the first time this season with Romelu Lukaku given a rest by Jose Mourinho.

His performance comes just days after being nominated for the European Golden Boy award for the second consecutive year along with hot favourites for the award Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele.

But Neville believes Rashford is every bit as good as the French duo and has proven he is on the right track.

“I live abroad and everybody absolutely praises Dembele and Mbappe, £150m players and we don’t talk about Marcus Rashford in this country,” Neville told Sky Sports.

“Because he’s English we think ‘Oh he plays on the left wing, he’s just ok’.

“He’s up there with Dembele and Mbappe. Marcus Rashford - everyone says he needs to play centre forward but play him anywhere up front because he’s good enough and he’s in that bracket with those two.

“Rashford is every bit as good as them and can be in the future as well because he’s improving every season.”

Mourinho has deployed Rashford on the left wing this season with Lukaku occupying the central role, but Neville doesn’t believe that is a hindrance to the teenager’s development.

“I don’t think it’s a problem with him playing on the left hand side,” Neville added.

“Some of the best players in the world like Thierry Henry started on the left then drifted into the middle.

“But this boy has got absolutely everything. Everything that you would want from a forward.

“He has the ability to beat a man, the movement, the speed, the awareness. And now I think he’s developing that finishing touch.
