Liverpool news: Nobody knew Mohamed Salah would be as good as he has been - Jurgen Klopp

MOHAMED SALAH has caught everyone by surprise with how quickly he has settled into Liverpool, according to Jurgen Klopp.

Salah scores INCREDIBLE goal for Liverpool

Salah is Liverpool’s top scorer for the season with five goals in all competitions since joining for a club record fee from Roma in the summer.

The Egypt international has already had a brief spell in the Premier League with Chelsea back in 2013 but he was unable to break into the first team at Stamford Bridge.

There were questions marks over Salah whether he wasn’t cut out for the English top flight once Liverpool brought him back to the country.

But he has quickly proved his worth at Anfield with his scintillating displays alongside Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane in the opening games of the season.

And Klopp never had any doubt that Salah would prove his worth after his summer move from Serie A.

“Mo has played better than anyone could have imagined,” Klopp said.

“He’s a very good player, one we were convinced about. That’s why we did it.

“You could see in the first game at Watford, it was quite difficult for him at the beginning. It was really physical and maybe a few people had doubts and thought it would be difficult for him.

“But now he’s much more stable. When he was at Chelsea, he was only a kid there. Now he’s much more mature, his style of play and also physically. Everything is better.

“I’m not surprised but you should not take things like this for granted as sometimes new players need time.”
