Philippe Coutinho goal: The Liverpool star left Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel helpless

Coutinho doubled Liverpool's lead in the Premier League clash at the King Power Stadium.

Mohamed Salah had opened the scoring with a fine header on the quarter of an hour mark before his team-mate scored a stunning free kick from 20 yards seven minutes later.

Former England boss Glenn Hoddle was commentating on the game and was in awe of Coutinho's effort, which left Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel helpless.

“It’s beautiful isn’t it," Glenn Hoddle said on BT Sport.

"It’s right on cue, it’s a lovely area for him. It beats the wall with a fantastic dipping shot.

"That’s what they didn’t do in the week, they didn’t punish Leicester when they had them on the back foot. Today they certainly have.

"But it’s a goal of beauty, all that pressure he’s been under.

"He hits it up and above the Leicester wall, beautiful strike, dipping, curling away from the keeper.

"The keeper can’t get there and it’s a wonderful free kick."

It was Coutinho's first goal for Liverpool since the speculation over his future in the summer.

Barcelona had three bids rejected for the Brazilian, who wanted a move to the Nou Camp.

Coutinho has started Liverpool's last three games in all competitions.

Leicester pulled a goal back just before half time through Shinji Okazaki.
