Liverpool news: Jurgen Klopp celebrated like winning the Champions League final says Burley

That is the opinion of pundit and former Chelsea midfielder Craig Burley.

Klopp’s Liverpool side have come under continuous criticism for their defensive displays this season.

The German manager did not bring in a new centre-back in the summer, a decision which did not go down well with fans and pundits.

Klopp has repeatedly been subjected to questions about his back four and Burley says his celebration to beating Leicester was a reaction to that.

“Did you see Jurgen Klopp at the end?” Burley said on ESPN FC.

“It looked as if he’d just beat Real Madrid in the Champions League final.

“Rightly or wrongly, some of the British media start asking more and more questions and it’s always about the same thing.

“It’s about his back four or his rotation.

“I think he was smarting from that question during the week.

“And I think we saw a reaction to the journalists questions with the result at the weekend, which by the way could have gone either way.

“I just think it shows you how things are swinging for him and now he’s got to start getting more results.”

Liverpool are in Champions League action tonight, when they travel to Russia to face Spartak Moscow (7.45pm).
