Tonight saw the first real outing for Philippe Coutinho, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah together in Liverpool's attack.
Injury and suspension have prevented it from happening but Jurgen Klopp opted to play the quartet from the outset this evening and he will be pleased with some aspects of their play.
They all offer pace, skill and creativity which will trouble every team they come up against.There remains plenty of room for improvement and time to gel.
And despite the draw, there is plenty of time for the fab four to gel.
Loris Karius flops
Liverpool boss Klopp made the bold decision to drop Simon Mignolet and play Loris Karius in the Champions League.
And there will be question marks about his decision after Karius was beaten from a free-kick from Fernando.
The ball was well struck by the Moscow player but it was not in the corner and Karius will be disappointed at seeing the shot go past him.
Philippe Coutinho's importance
Liverpool fought desperately over the summer to keep Philippe Coutinho at the club and away from Barcelona.
They won that battle and their stance has been rewarded in the past two games.
He scored a stunning free-kick against Leicester at the weekend and tonight he finished clinically after a slick one-two with Sadio Mane.
He was at the heart of everything Liverpool did well.

Daniel Sturridge has found chances to impress at Liverpool hard to come by this season.
And he was brought by Klopp to try and grab a winner in the second half.
But he had at least three good chances to do and so failed which won't have endeared him to the Liverpool manager.
Champions League hopes
With two draws now, Liverpool need six points from their games against Maribor.
The Reds only have themselves to blame for a series of poor finishes in both matches.
And despite being favourites at the start to reach the knockout stages, the draws have now left them a little vulnerable in the group.
