Jurgen Klopp discusses why Liverpool failed to beat Spartak Moscow - 'We must be clinical'

LIVERPOOL boss Jurgen Klopp says his side have to be more clinical after they drew 1-1 with Spartak Moscow.

Liverpool went a goal down when Fernando smashed a free-kick past Loris Karius but Philippe Coutinho equalised not long after following a slick one-two with Sadio Mane.

The Reds then had ample chances to grab a winner but were extremely wasteful with their finishing.

Roberto Firmino and substitute Daniel Sturridge were especially guilty of missing presentable opportunities.

And after the match, Klopp was reluctant to be too critical of his players but was clear that missed chances cost them tonight.

Klopp said: "It was a crazy game. To create all those chances and only score one goal feels average.

"What can I say? We created, created and created. Where is the real point for criticism? We tried with all we had. The effort was great.

"We have to be more clinical 100% for sure. The only way to change it is to do it again."
