Alvaro Morata joined Chelsea from Real Madrid this summer for a club record £60million and has been an instant success.

The 24-year-old has scored six Premier League goals already this term, including a hat-trick last time out against Stoke.

The Blues come up against Atletico Madrid tonight in the Champions League, with Morata facing his fellow Spain international Fernando Torres.

And Torres has admitted he spoke to the Blues striker about heading to Stamford Bridge in the summer.

"I spoke with him before he joined Chelsea and told him I would be always on the phone if he needed any advice or if I could help him," Torres said.

“Looking at the start he has made it doesn’t look like he needs any advice at all - already he is playing well and scoring goals.

"Chelsea have one of the best strikers in Europe - and I am sure he is going to win trophies with them."

And Torres admitted he expects a tough test in the Champions League tonight (7.45pm) against the Blues, despite having home advantage.

“The Chelsea games will not be easy - there is a reason they are Champions of England," he added.

"They will be one of the teams that believe they are capable of winning the competition this season.

“The teams from England all look very strong this year - they all have quality players and I am sure there is belief among all of them.”

Chelsea won their opening Champions League fixture against Azerbaijani minnows Qarabag 6-0.
