CSKA Moscow vs Man Utd: Neil Mellor has backed Jose Mourinho's side to win tonight

Manchester United face CSKA Moscow in the Champions League tonight (7.45pm), 24 hours after Liverpool drew 1-1 with Spartak Moscow.

United are without several players due to injury, with Paul Pogba, Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini among those unavailable.

But Mellor is backing Jose Mourinho’s side to come away with the three points.

“When you look at the Russian sides, you think it’s a tough place to go to, they make it an intimidating atmosphere as we saw from Liverpool at Spartak last night,” Mellor said on Sky Sports.

But you look at Manchester United and say I do fancy them to come away with something tonight

Neil Mellor on CSKA Moscow vs Man Utd

“You want to play them fairly early on in the campaign and I think Liverpool benefited from that last night. I think United will tonight.

“When you go to Russia at the back end of November, start of December, it’s freezing, it’s snowing, it makes it a lot more difficult.

“I think going there now it’s a little more milder the temperature. I think that will help United, they’ve made a few changes.

“There is a few injuries for United but the way they started this season under Jose Mourinho, it’s been very, very impressive.

“He can make the changes, he’s got different styles.

"Whether (Romelu) Lukaku plays up stop, whether (Marcus) Rashford plays up top, they can go more physical.

“I think they’ll have a physical game in Russia tonight with CSKA, they’re a more physical outfit than perhaps.
