Chelsea news: Michy Batshuayi can't fill in for Alvaro Morata… Blues need more - Wright

CHELSEA may need more reinforcements if Alvaro Morata gets injured as Michy Batshuayi isn’t the answer.

Chelsea's Michy Batshuayi isn't happy with FIFA 18 rating

Those are the thoughts of BBC Sport pundit Ian Wright.

Morata kept up his rich vein of form last night, as he netted in Chelsea’s dramatic 2-1 victory over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

Batshuayi meanwhile, came off the bench to net the last-gasp winner after he tapped home from Marcos Alonso’s cross.

While Batshuayi is deemed the super sub, Wright has questioned the Blues’ firepower and he feels more is needed if Morata were to succumb to injury.

“He seems to be the perfect substitute - he comes on and scores important goals,” Wright told BBC Radio 5 live.

“I was saying before he’s not doing enough for me. He’s not someone who is doing enough for me and he is going to shift Morata.

Ian Wright isn't sure whether Michy Batshuayi could fill in for Alvaro Morata

“Yes he’s done it today and it is perfect for Chelsea tonight what with the result, but if something happens to Morata, they need someone who is going to score goals.”

Chelsea’s victory sees them top Group C with maximum points from their first two games.

Next up for Antonio Conte and his side is the visit of Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday (5.30pm).
