13:54: Sergio Aguero has spoken out after suffering broken ribs in a car crash overnight.

Aguero told Radio Metro de Argentina: "The taxi driver did not see the curve and skid. And when he skidded, we hit the pole.

"I broke my rib, now I'm resting. It hurts me badly. I'll be discharged in a little while."

Merson prediction

12:16: Paul Merson has given his prediction ahead of Manchester City’s trip to Chelsea tomorrow (5.30pm).

“I cannot separate these two sides so I'm going for a 1-1 draw,” Merson told Sky Sports. “It should be a great game. 

“Chelsea's win over Atletico Madrid on Wednesday was one of the best performances I've seen away from home in Europe for a long time.

This is another big game for Chelsea though. We expect United to win at home to Palace and that would mean Chelsea would be six points behind them before kick-off at Stamford Bridge. 

“I know it's still early in the season but that is still a lot of points. Because of that I think both sides being happy with a draw.”

10:07: Pep Guardiola will hold his weekly pre-match press conference at 1.30pm today.

The Manchester City manager will be asked about Sergio Aguero’s car crash.

The big question is why Aguero was allowed time off to go to Holland just two days before a crunch Premier League game with Chelsea.

09:19: Manchester City have released a statement on Sergio Aguero after he was involved in a car crash in Holland overnight.

City said: “Sergio Aguero will be assessed by Club doctors today after being involved in a road accident on Thursday.

“The City forward was in Holland on his day off and has sustained injuries.

“He will return to Manchester this morning and his status will be checked ahead of tomorrow's Premier League clash at Chelsea.

“Mancity.com will bring you all the latest on Sergio as we get more news.”

Sergio Aguero to miss Chelsea trip

07:45: Sergio Aguero is facing two months out with a rib injury suffered in a car crash in Holland overnight.

He is almost certain to be out of City’s match with Chelsea tomorrow (5.30pm).

And if reports in Argentina are correct, the Manchester City player will miss Premier League games against Stoke, Burnley, West Brom, Arsenal, Leicester, Huddersfield and Southampton.

In Europe City have clashes home and away against Napoli as well as a match with Feyenoord.

And Aguero will also miss the home Carabao Cup match against Wolves.

SERGIO AGUERO INVOLVED IN CAR CRASH

06:30: Sergio Aguero is said to have been involved in a car accident in Amsterdam overnight.

Aguero was in Holland for a concert of Colombian singer-songwriter Maluma.

The Manchester City star was riding a taxi when vehicle hit a pole.

Argentine news site Diario Ole broke the story and claim Aguero was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

They claim he has suffered a broken rib and could be out for Argentina’s next round of World Cup qualifiers.

City are yet to release a statement on the striker.
