United eye Yazici

12:53: Manchester United and Liverpool are battling for the signature of Turkish sensation Yusuf Yazici.

The Trabzonspor midfielder has captured the attention of the Premier League duo after rising to prominence at his boyhood club.

Yazici netted six times and provided 10 assists for his side last season and after breaking into the first team he has alerted a host of top European clubs.

Turkish newspaper Fanatik claim Sevilla and Borussia Dortmund, along with Liverpool and United, are monitoring his progress.

The 20-year-old was linked with a switch to Liverpool in the summer but a move never materialised.

Nainggolan deal backed

11.40: Manchester United would be doing good business if they secure a deal for Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan in January, according to Shaka Hislop.

Hislop says Nainggolan would be an upgrade on United’s current crop.

“Nainggolan is an upgrade on almost anybody anywhere, I’ll be honest with you,” he said on ESPN FC.

“I’d have him at any single club.

“If Manchester United get their way, then that can only be a hit.”

De Gea is the best in the world right now

07:40: David de Gea is a world beater and will be a big reason why Manchester United win the Premier League title, according to Paul Merson.

“David de Gea is without doubt the best goalkeeper in the world right now,” Merson wrote in his column for the Daily Star.

“It’s not even close either. Manuel Neuer and Thibaut Courtois are great keepers too but he’s making sensational saves week after week.

“If United win the title he will have been a big reason why.

“If De Gea doesn’t get the credit he deserves in Spain it’s because he’s not playing there for Real Madrid.

“But United know what they have – a world beater.”

Rashford can be as good as Aguero

07:00: Marcus Rashford is confident with his finishing now and it is only a matter of time before he matches up with the likes of Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero.

When asked to pick between Aguero, Harry Kane, Romelu Lukaku and Alvaro Morata as to who his first choice would be out of the four, Jermain Defoe told The Daily Mail: “I've always loved Harry. Before Tottenham bought (Roberto) Soldado, I remember saying to the lads that Harry should be in the first team — even if it's just cup games.

“I’d be in the treatment room and he'd come in. I'd say, 'How many goals did you score for the Under 21s today?' He'd say, 'Two, three...' Why were they not pushing him through? When I was at West Ham, that's what it was like.

“If you're good enough, you're playing. But if I had to pick one of those strikers, it would be Aguero.

“He's just unbelievable. Champions League? He'll do it. Tournaments? He'll do it.”

When asked if Rashford is capable of reaching the level of Aguero, Defoe added: “I think so, once he has that first season when he's scored 20 goals.

“You've already seen how he's scored a few goals and looks confident with his finishing now.”

Man Utd backed to beat Palace

06:30: Manchester United will comfortably beat Crystal Palace at Old Trafford tomorrow (3pm), according to Michael Owen.

“It doesn’t get any easier for Crystal Palace, who remain bottom of the Premier League table after six successive defeats this term,” Owen told the Metro.

“Palace are 20/1 with BetVictor to cause an upset at Old Trafford but I can’t see anything bar a comfortable home win but Roy Hodgson needs points, and fast, to get the club out of trouble.”
