ARSENAL’s frontline is as good as any team in the Premier League, according to Stuart Pearce.

Arsenal news: The Gunners have as good an attack as anyone in England, says Pearce

Arsenal signed Alexandre Lacazette in the summer for an initial club-record fee of £46.5million.

They also managed to keep hold of Alexis Sanchez despite the Chilean being keen on moving to Manchester City, with his contract up at the end of this season.

Add in Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck and Arsenal are as potent as any of their rivals in the top-flight, says Pearce.

“I think Arsenal have got arguably as decent a frontline numbers-wise as anybody in the Premier League,” the former Man City boss said on Sky Sports.

“When you look, Giroud, Welbeck, throw them two into the mix as well.

So Arsenal have still got a bit to do to break into the top echelons

“Lacazette has started the season particularly well, so he’s got great options Arsene Wenger, which is fantastic.

“Whether he wants to play a two, whether he wants to go with a one and one of them play wide.

“But they’ve certainly got goals in their ranks and you expect the midfield players to score on top of what they’ve got up front.”

Arsenal have won six of their last seven games in all competitions, with the only slight blemish coming in a 0-0 draw at Chelsea.

However, Pearce cannot see Wenger’s side challenging for the title this term despite their change in fortunes.

Arsenal news: Arsene Wenger's side have some way to go to win the Premier League though, says Pearce

“I think the early stages of the season suggest to me that that title is going to be fought out in my opinion by the two Manchester clubs and maybe Chelsea,” Pearce added.

“I think Tottenham might struggle a little bit at home, they’ll struggle because they haven’t got the attacking flair of the two flying full-backs in (Kyle) Walker and (Danny) Rose.

“People respect Tottenham a little bit more this season than they did last season or maybe the season before, so it will be tougher for them.

“So Arsenal have still got a bit to do to break into the top echelons.”
