Arsenal news: Every fan has the right to be unhappy - Cech

PETR CECH believes Arsenal’s good run of form has brought the Emirates crowd back onside.

Peter Cech has kept four consecutive Premier League clean sheets for Arsenal

Their 2-0 victory over Brighton at the weekend stretched the Gunners' unbeaten run to seven matches.

Arsenal have now won six out of their last seven games, their only blip in that time being a goalless draw away to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Following the 4-0 drubbing at Liverpool in August the fans were in uproar, but Cech reckons the north Londoners' fan base are more positive now.

“We said after the Liverpool game the only way to bring everybody back on board was our attitude and work ethic and obviously results,” Cech said.

“We have been doing that, especially at home we feel like we have won the fans back on our side and hopefully we can keep them happy as long as we can.

“Home is always home. Every fan has the right to show if they’re not happy but as players I think we’ve shown the way and they are supporting us everywhere we go. I think this is great to see.”

Arsenal supporters have regularly protested over the lack of money spent by the club in recent seasons.

When they played Chelsea earlier in the season, fans printed thousands of fake £50 notes with Arsene Wenger’s head in place of the Queen’s.

Cech is one of only four Arsenal players to start every Premier League game so far this season.

And he’s confident that the Gunners can reel in the two early pace-setters, Manchester City and Manchester United.

“We play them both and they are games where we will have the opportunity to close the gap,” Cech said.

“Yesterday we were watching all the games and results.

“We knew every team ahead of us won their games so we needed to continue our run and keep winning to keep the gap the way it is.

“Unfortunately we have to be chasing so we need to make sure we win our games and if the teams ahead drop points we can close the gap or get ahead of them.”

Arsenal’s next Premier League game comes away at Watford after the international break.
