CRYSTAL PALACE should be very worried heading into their Premier League clash with Chelsea next week, Pat Nevin has warned.

Crystal Palace host Chelsea at Selhurst Park next Saturday after the international break and will be searching for their first win of the campaign.

The south London club sit bottom of the Premier League after seven straight defeats and are yet to score a single goal.

And Pat Nevin thinks they should be very worried about coming up against the Blues who will be desperate to return to winning ways following their defeat to Manchester City.

“We lost 1-0 against a good side, we have a winnable run coming up and if I was a Palace player right now, I would already be worried,” Nevin said.

Jermaine Jenas: I think Roy Hodgson at Leicester is a perfect fit

“We have a very good-looking league run between now and the end of the calendar year, one in which we could really put some pressure on the current leaders.

“I reckon Chelsea are outright favourites to win every one of those games with the only arguments being Manchester United at home and Liverpool away, and even those are probably evens at the bookies.

“I am not saying we will win every one of those games but there is a great opportunity for a great run and I think the players know this.”

Palace on the other hand have had a dire run of games, coming up against Manchester City, and Chelsea.

And Roy Hodgson has admitted his side will need to run themselves into the ground if they are to take anything from the game against the Blues.

“Christian Benteke won’t be back for a few weeks, so we still won’t have a recognised centre-forward,” Hodgson said.

“Wilf Zaha probably won’t be back and Ruben Loftus-Cheek can’t play [as he is on loan from Chelsea].

“So there are three quality players I can name off the top of my head who could have helped us do a better job against Chelsea.

“But they’re not there, so it’s got to be the lads I put out there who go out and run their b****cks off – if you excuse my expression – to try to do the best job they can possibly do.”
