Real Madrid's Florentino Perez is supposedly ready to sell Man Utd target Gareth Bale

Real Madrid star Bale has endured two seasons of injury problems in Spain and is supposedly closer to leaving the club than at any time during his four-year stint.

The Wales international has been ruled out of his country’s World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and Ireland.

He suffered a calf injury in the Champions League win over Borussia Dortmund last week and is expected to be out for a month.

And reports in Spain claim Perez has finally had enough of Bale.

Publication Diario Gol claim the Bernabeu president has told Bale his time at Real is up.

Manchester United have tracked Bale ever since he left Tottenham for Real in 2013.

The 28-year-old cost a then-record £85million and Real could look to sell for around the same price.

Diario Gol claim Perez was stopped from selling Bale in the summer because of manager Zinedine Zidane.

But the French boss’ power only extends so far.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho admitted in the summer he was interested in landing Bale and spoke about the player ahead of their UEFA Super Cup clash with Real in Macedonia.

In the build-up to the game he said he know Bale was available if Real refused to start him in the final.

Bale started in the 2-1 win and Mourinho said: "Clearly the club wants him, the manager wants him and he wants the club, so for me it's game over - even before it started.

"It's game over clearly because everybody knows he is going to stay."

But with Real now wanting to axe Bale, Mourinho could come back in for the forward.
