MANCHESTER UNITED have reportedly sent scouts to run the rule over Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini.

Manchester United are keeping tabs on Lorenzo Pellegrini

Jose Mourinho produced one of his best bits of transfer business in the summer when he acquired Nemanja Matic from Chelsea for £40million.

United have already put the feelers out on Pellegrini’s team-mate Radja Nainggolan and they watched him last month in the 3-0 victory over Verona.

“The club already took out their 12-month option to extend his deal back in January, so it's proving difficult.

“He wants to stay by all accounts, but has seen the club hand big money in recent seasons to new arrivals."
