Manchester United were tipped to sign Alba over the summer, with manager Jose Mourinho hellbent on signing a left-back.
The Spain international’s future was uncertain after he struggled for form at the Nou Camp under Luis Enrique last season as the club lost out on both La Liga and the Champions League to fierce rivals Real Madrid.
However, new boss Ernesto Valverde ultimately decided to keep Alba.
And Spanish outlet Don Balon claims the Red Devils have no chance of signing the defender because he is reluctant to leave Lionel Messi.

It is said the two are close friends and have struck up a close relationship during their time together in Catalonia.
As a result, Alba is seemingly unwilling to go.
Don Balon say United have been in regular contact with the player as Mourinho aims to solve his full-back woes.
But Alba wants to keep playing with Messi and is desperate to drive the club to the La Liga summit.
