Morata to certain to succeed - Makele

Makelele is confident he will score plenty of goals for Chelsea, after proving his prowess at Real Madrid and Juventus.

Batshuayi keen to stay

15.00: Michy Batshuayi insists he will fight for his place at Chelsea rather than look for a January exit.

The Belgium ace was overlooked by Antonio Conte when Alvaro Morata went off injured against Manchester City.

And despite scoring the winner against Atletico Madrid appears to be out of favour with the Itlain.

But he wants to make it work and has held talks with compatriot Eden Hazard over how to succeed at Stamford Bridge.

"It was friendly advice," he told Belgian media.

"When he said that, he thought a third striker was going to come, but in the end, there's only two of us for one place. I want to succeed at this club and my relationship with Alvaro is very healthy.

"I don't want to leave during the next transfer window, because we're going to play a lot of games and I will certainly get an opportunity."

Bakayoko no Matic

14:00: Former Chelsea coach Ray Wilkins does not believe summer signing Tiemoue Bakayoko is a suitable replacement for Nemanja Matic, who left Stamford Bridge to join Manchester United.

“Bakayoko is no Matic, not yet anyway,” Wilkins told Sky Sports News.

“Matic is just superb. I don’t think we [Chelsea] are anywhere near what we were last year.”

Oscar open to return

13:00: Oscar has revealed he would be ‘very happy’ to return Chelsea in the future.

Asked if he would like to play in the Premier League again, Oscar told PL Brazil: “Yes, I would go back! I’m still young, I’m 26.

“Who knows in two, three years to return to the Premier League… I would be very happy.

“And preferably for Chelsea, who opened the doors for me to return.”

Barkley battle with Tottenham

12:00: Chelsea face a fight on their hands from Tottenham to sign Everton midfielder Ross Barkley in January.

Barkley, 23, opted against a move to Chelsea in the summer despite Everton accepting a £35million bid.

The Blues are ready to go in for him again in the winter window, but Tottenham rival the Premier League champions for his signature - reports the Daily Telegraph.

It is said Pochettino wants to pair Barkley and Dier together in the heart of his midfield.

He also views him as the perfect man to provide competition for Mousa Dembele.

Pastore targeted

11:00: Chelsea will battle with Liverpool and Inter Milan for the signature of Javier Pastore.

That’s according to El Gol Digital, who claim the midfielder can leave Paris Saint-Germain for £26million.

The Argentina international has fallen down the pecking order in the French capital following the arrivals of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe in the summer.

And PSG want to help balance their books before making Mbappe’s loan deal from Monaco permanent next summer.
