Real Madrid News: Tottenham prepared to pay Alli same wages as Tevez to stop transfer

TOTTENHAM are prepared to pay midfielder Dele Alli the same wages as Carlos Tevez, according to sensational reports in Spain.

Real Madrid are currently struggling in La Liga, dropping points against Valencia and Levante and trailing fierce rivals Barcelona by seven points at the summit.

Alli, meanwhile, continues to take the Premier League by storm with Tottenham.

The England international's stock has risen in the two years since his arrival from MK Dons, with the midfielder now regarded as one of the most promising players in world football.

And, so keen are Real Madrid to sign him, Spanish outlet Don Balon says Tottenham could now be forced to offer him a dizzying salary to keep him at the club.

Spurs have always been frugal when it comes to splashing the cash on player's wages.

Even Harry Kane, who is continuing his rise towards the top of the game, is on a relatively modest wage of £100,000.

But Don Balon say Tottenham are willing to offer Alli a huge £630,000 a week to ensure he stays put.

Spurs have supposedly told the 21-year-old they want him to be part of their team for years to come.

Mauricio Pochettino's men are planning for the long-term and think that, in five years time, they will be regularly competing for the Champions League and Premier League.

The sensational report consequently says Real's hopes of signing Alli will diminish should the player get a salary close to Tevez's.

However, should he sign it, the youngster is likely to justify it more than the South American.

Tevez's time in China at Shanghai Shenhua has been nothing short of a disaster.

The 33-year-old, despite being the world's best-paid player, has struck just twice in 15 games.

And, speaking in September, even the club's president labelled him a flop.

“Our intention was to bring in an influential star player with high quality, and we all think Tevez could fit the bill," Wu Xiaohui said.

“However, due to a lack of winter training and match fitness, he didn't meet our expectations.”
