Hazard, 26, has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid after playing a crucial part in Chelsea’s Premier League title triumph last season.

He has continued to produce eye-catching performances after returning from injury this term as the Blues currently sit fourth in the league table.

The attacker looks set to be rewarded with a bumper new contract and is locked in talks with Chelsea over fresh terms.

But Belgium journalist Kristof Terruer reckons there is a lot at stake for Hazard as it is now or never for him to seal a move to Real Madrid.

If they come for him it’s choosing between Chelsea and Real for the rest of his career

“For him, this summer (2018) will be a now-or-never as he becomes 27,” he told the Transfer Window Podcast.

“If they come for him it’s choosing between Chelsea and Real for the rest of his career.

“We’ll see what happens if he signs that contract in the coming weeks or months.”

Terruer went onto admit Hazard’s move could hinge on his family.

“He’s very happy in London, in Cobham. He doesn’t like the limelight,” he added.

“His kids speak better English than him so that’s important to him, to his family life.

“That will play an important role too if he ever moves to Real Madrid.”

Up next for Chelsea after the international break is a clash with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on October 14 (3pm).
