Ronaldo thinks Messi would struggle - report

14:30: Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo believes Lionel Messi would struggle to deliver in the Premier League, reports claim.

Spanish publication Don Balon claim the Portuguese thinks everything at the Nou Camp has been tailored to help Messi maximise his potential.

Don Balon continue to suggest that Ronaldo sees Messi's comparable hardship with the Argentina national team as evidence of this.

Mourinho wants Roberto

14:00: Jose Mourinho wants Barcelona star Sergi Roberto at Manchester United, according to reports in Spain.

Roberto has established himself as a key player for Barcelona since breaking into the first team in the 2015/16 campaign.

He’s played in all-but one of Barca’s La Liga games this season as they sit unbeaten at the top of the table, chipping in with a goal and two assists.

And according to Spanish outlet Don Balon, Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is a huge admirer of the 25-year-old.

Mourinho is said to have told United chiefs to stop at nothing to sign the Spain international.

The Barcelona academy product has a £36million release clause in his contract, and Mourinho feels he’s worth every penny.

Barca duo off?

13:00: Barcelona duo Paco Alcacer and Gerard Deulofeu could leave the club next summer, reports claim.

Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo claim manager Ernesto Valverde has no plans for the pair, and is prepared to offload them.

Deulofeu, who re-joined from Everton after Barcelona triggers his buyout clause, could be snapped up for £17.8million.

Barca to exploit Griezmann loophole

12:00: Barcelona are reportedly trying to sign Atletico Madrid star Antonine Griezmann on the cheap!

Spanish website Mundo Deportivo claim Barcelona chiefs are looking at the Frenchman’s contract, and hope to exploit his release clause.

The report suggests Griezmann has an £89million release clause in his current contract that will expire on July 1.

However, after that date, another clause will kick in that doubles his price-tag to a whopping £178million until his deal expires on 2023.

It’s therefore been claimed that Barcelona will look to complete a deal before the World Cup next summer.

Premier League duo Manchester United and Arsenal have also been credited with interest, and might try to capitalise themselves.

Schalke players expect Goretzka to leave

11:00: Leon Goretzka’s Schalke colleagues have already accepted that he will leave the club, but they aren’t exactly sure when.

The German talent has attracted interest from virtually every European heavyweight after numerous dazzling displays in the Bundesliga.

Arsenal, Barcelona, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United have all been credited with interest in the 22-year-old, who netted a brilliant backheel against Azerbaijan on Sunday.

Schalke captain Ralf Fahrmann spoke about the midfielder, and conceded that he will probably leave the club.

He said: “I'd like him to stay here for a long time. But you also have to be honest. A man with his qualities is difficult to keep in the long run. In the long run, he will land at one of the top clubs. The only question is when?"

German newspaper Bild claim there are a number of clauses in Goretzka's contract that mean Schalke are unlikely to sell in January.

Ballon d'Or nominees: 10 huge omissions from shortlist

10:00: Alexis Sanchez is one of several big names who have been omitted from the 30-man Ballon d’Or shortlist.

Arsenal frontman Sanchez scored 30 goals in all competitions last season, but his efforts were not enough to make France Football’s elite shortlist.

The annual award sees players from around Europe recognised for their footballing achievements over the past 12 months, but there are several glaring omissions ahead of this year’s vote.

Tottenham playmaker Christian Eriksen has also missed out despite bagging 23 assists in a superb campaign.

Barca eye Danilo

09:00: Barcelona’s director of football Robert Fernandez spent the international break keeping a keen eye on Danilo, according to reports.

Danilo joined Porto from Maritime in July 2015 and has since established himself as a key member of Sergio Conceicao’s side.

The 26-year-old was linked with a move to Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain during the summer but a deal never materialised.

And any side hoping to tempt Porto into selling would have to meet the £55million release clause included in Danilo’s contract, which he only signed in January.

He was a key member of the Portugal side which won the European Championship in 2016, although he didn’t feature in the final.

And his recent performances for his country have caught the eye of Barcelona chief Robert Fernandez.

That’s according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, who claim Fernandez has targeted Danilo as the ideal successor to Sergio Busquets once he decides to hang up his boots.

Griezmann plea

08:00: Antoine Griezmann has reportedly told Atletico Madrid he wants them to consider an offer should Barcelona make an approach.

Griezmann was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United prior to this summer’s transfer window.

And the Spain international looked likely to complete a move to Old Trafford until Atletico Madrid’s transfer ban was upheld.

That led to Griezmann announcing he would remain at Atletico because they would be unable to bring in a replacement.

United then secured the services of Romelu Lukaku, who has been an instant hit under Jose Mourinho, scoring 10 goals in nine games in all competitions.

And just a few weeks ago Atletico announced a transfer had been agreed with Chelsea for the signature of Diego Costa, who will be able to play for the La Liga club in the New Year.

It’s a move that could be seen as Griezmann’s replacement at the Wanda Metropolitano with the France international likely to complete a move in 2018.

Despite Lukaku’s form at United and Zlatan Ibrahimovic available once he returns from injury, Mourinho is said to still be interested in signing Griezmann.

But reports in Spain have suggested they could be rivalled by Barcelona.

And El Gol Digital claim Griezmann has told Atletico he would like to listen to Barcelona’s proposal should they make a concrete offer.

The report states the 26-year-old wants to be reassured Atletico are heading in the right direction by demanding they keep hold of Jan Oblak.
