Chelsea news: Paris Saint-Germain make N'Golo Kante a priority target

CHELSEA star N’Golo Kante is still a top target for Paris Saint-Germain, according to reports in France.

The midfielder has already openly admitted that he turned down a move to the big-spending European giants while at Leicester City.

Kante helped the Foxes perform one of the greatest sporting achievements of all time as they defied odds of 5000/1 to win the Premier League.

That earned the Frenchman a move to Chelsea for a fee in the region of £30million - and he had the same success the following year.

But now PSG are back circling and looking to prize the tireless 26-year-old away from Stamford Bridge with their financial muscle received from owners Qatar Sports Investments.

French publication Le Parisien claim PSG will table an offer in the summer, but it will cost them at least double the £32million Chelsea paid to take him from the King Power Stadium.

PSG must wait until next summer to complete any more big-money signings because of Financial Fair Play restrictions.

UEFA are keeping a close eye on the French side’s spending after they splashed out a world-record transfer fee of £200m to take Neymar from Barcelona.

Kylian Mbappe also made the switch from Monaco, so any move for Kante will have to be put on hold until the summer, at least.

Last week Kante revealed to French outlet Le10Sport that he turned down a move to PSG earlier in his career.

He said: “When I was in Leicester, I had opportunities, but my priority was to stay in the Premier League.

“Do I regret that I rejected PSG? No.”
