Jose Mourinho’s side take on Liverpool on Saturday (12.30pm) as club football gets back on track following the international break.

Sky Sports will be broadcasting the blockbuster clash and ahead of the match they’ve been keen to get an interview with Mourinho previewing the game.

The TV company pay over £4billion for their Premier League rights and have contracted requirements ahead of matches to interview managers.

However, the Daily Mail claim Mourinho made things difficult for the broadcaster by refusing to talk to them after Sky sent a seven-strong media crew to Carrington.

Mourinho declined to co-operate with the TV cameras with a United spokesman blaming the snub on a schedule mix-up.

The Portuguese boss eventually carried out his media duties on Tuesday with Sky hopeful there won’t be any further problems going forward when needing to work with the former Real Madrid boss.

Sky faced similar problems with Sir Alex Ferguson during his time at Old Trafford with the Scot sometimes blanking their questions as well as refusing to talk to the BBC for seven years.

With media duties out the way, Mourinho’s focus will now be on welcoming his stars back from international duty and preparing them for the trip to Anfield.

Second-placed United sit seven points above rivals Liverpool and victory over the Merseyside outfit would send them three points clear of Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola’s team play later in the day when Stoke visit the Etihad (3pm).
