SADIO MANE’s injury is a disaster for Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, according to Reds legend Steve Nicol.

Mane is set to be out for six weeks with a hamstring injury he sustained on international duty with Senegal.

The first game he will miss will be the visit of Manchester United this Saturday, and Nicol does not think Liverpool will be able to cope without him.

He says only Mane, Mohamed Salah and Philippe Coutinho are the sources of goals in the Reds team.

“Disaster, it’s an absolute disaster,” Nicol said on ESPN FC when hearing of Mane's injury.

Liverpool pretty much rely on Coutinho, Salah and Mane as the goalscorers

Steve Nicol on Liverpool

“With Man United and Tottenham coming up, it’s an absolute disaster.

“Listen, when you’re Liverpool and you need to score at least two goals every game to know that you might win a game, because Liverpool give a goal away every game pretty much.

“Without Mane, those odds go way down.

“Against Manchester United and Tottenham, who have been as good as anybody in the Premier League defensively, I mean that’s a tough ask.

“Liverpool pretty much rely on Coutinho, Salah and Mane as the goalscorers.

“(Roberto) Firmino is more of the guy who links it all together.

“So you’ve taken one of those threats away and are left with two, so you’re pretty much putting it all on two guys for six weeks.

“I’m not so sure they’re capable for that amount of time.”
