Liverpool News: Adam Lallana posts injury update ahead of Manchester United clash

LIVERPOOL star Adam Lallana has shared a fitness update with fans ahead of the Reds' clash with Manchester United on Saturday.

Lallana is yet to feature for Liverpool this season after sustaining a thigh injury back in August.

The Reds have struggled in his absence, with the England international's unavailability coinciding with a rotten Liverpool run of form.

Jurgen Klopp's side have won just one of their last seven games across all competitions, and already sit seven points behind both Manchester clubs at the top of the table.

But Lallana has suggested a return is in sight after sharing an image of him and Xavi on social media site Instagram.

"Great week stepping up the rehab even further - getting stronger each and every day," he said.

"Added bonus of meeting and chatting to one of my idols as well - Xavi.

"So down to earth despite being one of the greatest players of his generation."

Meanwhile, Liverpool prodigy Yan Dhanda recent named Lallana as among the club’s biggest influences at Melwood.

“Training with those sorts of players, you don’t realise until you see them and think ‘wow, that’s Coutinho or wow, that’s Mane’," Dhanda told the Liverpool Echo.

“It’s helped me seeing them on and off the pitch so much.

"Things like what they eat and how they recover, they are straight in the ice bath no complaining and players like Lallana eat incredibly well.

“It’s clear his diet is what gives him the edge. The proteins and the carbohydrates give his body the best chance to perform and the fans love him because of how much energy he has.

“It’s not a coincidence why he is so good at Anfield and players like Coutinho are even better on the training field than on the pitch. I just want to be like them really.”
