Liverpool go into today's game with Manchester United aiming to restore a positive mood around Anfield.

Much pre-season hype has already faded with the Reds having won just one of their last seven games across all competitions.

Despite being able to hold onto Coutinho, who was heavily pursued by Barcelona in the summer, they are in dire need of an upturn in fortune.

And Klopp has revealed the 25-year-old - as well as Firmino - are expected to feature against the Red Devils this afternoon despite previous fitness concerns.

Both players turned out for Brazil during the recent international break, which had led to worries among Liverpool fans about their fitness for today's showdown.

But Klopp has moved to allay those fears.

"Phil played two games, Roberto played around about five minutes or something like this so it's different of course, but they both had a long flight - even when it was pretty comfortable I'm sure so, they should be OK, and they are important, yes," he said.

Klopp is under scrutiny following Liverpool's recent troubles.

However, the German has insisted he will only quit the Merseyside giants when he doubts his ability to deliver the club a first league title since 1990.

Liverpool News: Jurgen Klopp is under pressure going into the Manchester United game

“In the moment when I think we cannot be successful, and there is only consolation, I go,” Klopp said.

“Why should I be here as some kind of caretaker until the world creates a manager who can be more successful? That makes no sense. I am really convinced.

"Other managers have different ways to do it, other clubs have different ways to do it. We have our way.

"I don’t think I am the perfect manager, I only think I am the perfect fit for this club. And I feel already much more responsible than maybe I should.

"I don’t even think about going from my side or saying ‘That’s it’. I really think we are on the right way."
