Henry lauds Salah

18.30: Thierry Henry has lauded Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah, claiming he is a one of a kind.

“I think for me he is special,” Henry told Sky Sports.

“He has something special and I think he is a special player and will be a special player for Liverpool.

“I like the fact that he’s direct, we don’t have a lot of players like that in the game anymore.

“When he’s going to be able to finish all the opportunities that he has he will be more than lethal for this club.”

Chamberlain absence explained

12:50: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was a notable absentee for Liverpool's clash with Manchester United.

And Jurgen Klopp has now explained that decision.

“Ox just needs a little bit more time to adapt,” Klopp explained to Liverpool’s official website. “He was always interrupted by two-week international breaks; always when he starts taking the next step then international break.

“These boys are used to each other and they know about [each other’s] ways, so I think it makes sense against United that we do not make a lot of experiments because they are quite cool in their approach.

“They are convinced about what they are doing; sometimes a little bit deeper, sometimes a little bit higher. They don’t need 80 per cent of the ball to feel dominant in the game, so you need a formation in which everybody knows what the other player is doing in each situation.”

Klopp reveals when he will leave

10:50: Jurgen Klopp says he will leave Liverpool when he feels the Reds cannot win the Premier League under his guidance.

“The moment when I think we cannot be successful and there is only consolation, I go,” said Klopp.

“Why should I be here as some kind of caretaker until the world creates a manager who can be more successful? That makes no sense.

“I am really convinced. Other managers have different ways to do it, other clubs have different ways to do it. But we have our way.

“I don’t think I am the perfect manager, I only think I am the perfect fit for this club.”

Coutinho makes PSG transfer decision

10:30: Philippe Coutinho would rather leave Liverpool for Barcelona instead of PSG.

Catalan newspaper Sport say the Brazilian is wanted at the Parc des Princes by Neymar.

But he would supposedly rather join Barcelona instead.

The Catalan giants are expected to try and prise the midfielder away from Liverpool again when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.

Lawrenson prediction for Manchester United

10:15: Mark Lawrenson has not predicted Liverpool to lose in way over a year.

And the BBC pundit expects the Reds to get a point out of their game against Manchester United.

"I still think this fixture is the biggest game in the country because of the history behind it," he told the BBC.

"It is always a huge occasion and it is probably the type of fixture Liverpool need right now just to fire them up.

"Since they beat Arsenal 4-0 at the end of August, there has not been a game in which Jurgen Klopp's side have played well for the entire 90 minutes.

"Consequently they have dropped points because they have made defensive lapses after not putting games to bed.

"Liverpool have conceded an average of just under two goals a game in the league this season, so I am expecting United to score, especially with the form they are in.

“Both teams will be missing some key injured players - Liverpool will miss Sadio Mane as well as Adam Lallana and, although it looks like Romelu Lukaku will be fit, United will be without Paul Pogba and Marouane Fellaini in midfield.

"But the referee, Martin Atkinson, is going to play a big part in the outcome too because there are going to be quite a few tackles flying in from both sides."
