TOM CLEVERLEY has issued a warning to Chelsea after he netted a dramatic winner for Watford against Arsenal.

The 29-year-old former Manchester United midfielder scored his first goal in 18 months to send the Hornets into the top four of the Premier League.

Arsenal took the lead in the first half when German defender Per Mertesacker headed home.

But Watford fought back and substitute Troy Deeney equalised from the penalty spot after Hector Bellerin fouled Richarlison.

The game was then poised for Cleverley to score the winner and send the home fans into jubilation.

Watford are in dreamland having only suffered one defeat in the league this season, and their latest success leapfrogged fifth-placed Chelsea into a Champions League spot.

And with a trip to Stamford Bridge next up for Cleverley's on Saturday, the goal-scoring hero is confident of continuing their current form against the Premier League champions.

"The manager told us play with a bit more belief at half-time and that’s what we did," Cleverley said.

"Troy [Deeney] came on and made a huge difference.
