Mourinho has spoken to PSG - Laurens

16:42: Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has previously spoken to Paris Saint-Germain about taking over as their manager.

That is according to French football expert Julien Laurens.

“The truth though is that PSG and Jose Mourinho have spoken with each other in the past,” Laurens told ESPN FC.

“Jorge Mendes is very close to the people at PSG, Nasser Al-Khelaifi for example.

“I think there was a time where PSG would have loved to have had Jose Mourinho.

“The problem is, again, is the style of football that Mourinho plays.

“It is not really the one that the Qatari ownership wants at PSG.

“They don’t want Neymar and (Kylian) Mbappe going into the Champions League, let’s say at Liverpool, and going there for a 0-0 draw.

“So that could be a problem for Mourinho if he wants to go to PSG.”

Mourinho to PSG

12:04: Danny Murphy says Jose Mourinho would be foolish to ditch Manchester United for PSG.

“I want him (to stay),” Murphy said on talkSPORT.

“I don’t understand that. How can he be managing one of the biggest clubs in the world and then talk about where he will be going later?”

On United’s draw with Liverpool on Saturday, Murphy added: “I love Mourinho, he’s probably the best manager.

“He doesn’t frustrate me by doing that, going for the point and getting it.

“What frustrates me is the interview after. He said he was waiting. Why? He said he didn’t have anyone on the bench to change the game tactically. But he did.

“He could have put Rashford alongside Lukaku. Or Mata as a 10. That bench is as good as any bench.”

Ronaldo orders De Gea signing

06:00: Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly ordered Real Madrid to sign David De Gea.

The La Liga giants have been long-term admirers of the Spain international and came close to signing him two years ago.

And according to Spanish outlet Diario Gol, De Gea could head to the Bernabeu if Ronaldo gets his way.

The Portuguese is hoping Zinedine Zidane can strike a deal for Chelsea's Thibaut Courtois if he can’t get De Gea to make the move to the Spanish capital.

Jose Mourinho hint

05:15: Jose Mourinho insists he will not finish his career at Manchester United and has even hinted a move to Paris Saint-Germain could be on the cards in the future.

Reports earlier this week suggest the Portuguese is in line for a new £65million five-year deal with the Red Devils boss keen to sign.

Mourinho is yet to test his managerial skills in France but has suggested it could be on his agenda with his son a fan and the club building "something special."

Speaking to Telefoot, Mourinho said that the Red Devils would not be his last job in management, when asked about a possible move to PSG.

He said: “What I can say is that I am still a manager with questions, with ambitions, with a desire to do new things and I do not think… I am sure that I will not finish my career here.”

Romelu Lukaku hits back

04:45: Romelu Lukaku insists his goal for Manchester United against Real Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup has gone some way to answering his critics.

The Belgian, who had scored in every Premier League outing prior to the clash at Anfield, netted on his competitive debut for United against Real in the Super Cup.

While some of his critics may call him a flat-track bully, Lukaku thinks this couldn’t be further from the truth.

And he insists his goal against Real gave him impetus to improve.

“I think the biggest pressure game for me was the Super Cup,” he said.

“I think it freed me from everything and I just kept going, tried to improve week in, week out.”

Cristiano Ronaldo blocked Paul Pogba deal

04:15: Cristiano Ronaldo blocked the arrivals of Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic at Real Madrid, according to shock reports in Spain.

Ronaldo is Mr Real Madrid and has become synonymous with the club since joining from Manchester United in 2009.

The 32-year-old has broken every goalscoring record, finding the back of the net 286 times in 269 La Liga appearances.

Spanish outlet Diario Gol claim Manchester United duo Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba both had their moves to Real blocked by the Portuguese.
