Real Madrid vs Tottenham: Hugo Lloris received plenty of praise for his performance tonight
Tottenham captain Lloris made a number of high-quality saves at the Bernabeu, especially in the second-half.
Somehow keeping out a close-range effort from Karim Benzema, who will think he really should have scored, was the highlight for the Frenchman.
Manchester United legend and BT Sport pundit Rio Ferdinand was seriously impressed by Lloris and his side.
“That man there in the picture, Hugo Lloris with a couple of great saves,” he said.

“Commanding performance from him and he marshalled that back five in front of him for the whole game.
“Listen, you have to ride your luck at times here when you play in the big stadiums.
“Real Madrid were probing here and there but I think this Spurs team looked comfortable at times defending, looked confident in what they were doing.
“That’s a testament to (Mauricio) Pochettino and the way he set his side up.”

Former Tottenham manager and midfielder Glenn Hoddle was in awe of Lloris but does not think Benzema should have given him the chance to save it.
“This is amazing,” Hoddle said of the stop.
“This is where they’ve thrown bodies in the box, we see all the white shirts.
“This, what a chance and it’s a great save. He really shouldn’t be having to make the save but it’s a wonder save, it really is.”
