Debuchy’s last game for Arsenal came over a year ago and he came close to leaving in the summer following a lack of game time.

The Frenchman has battled injuries in the past but has also fallen down the pecking order under Arsene Wenger.

But he now looks set to get some minutes under his belt in the Europa League.

“It’s a possibility he starts tomorrow,” Wenger said.

“He has not played for a long time.”

Arsenal have already made a good start to life in the Europa League with two wins from two.

Victory over Red Star Belgrade would hand them a five point advantage at the top of Group H and relieve some pressure on Wenger’s shoulders.

A trip to Serbia will not be easy though - Red Star Belgrade have conceded only three goals in 14 league matches this season.

But Wenger is also hoping Arsenal’s experience in the Champions League will help them when it comes to play in an intimidating atmosphere.

“The support of the team always has a positive impact. We can deal with that - we have long experience in the Champions League.

“I don’t think it will have a negative impact.

“We are of course in a country with a tremendous football tradition so we expect a game with huge commitment from everybody.”
