Chelsea vs Roma: Antonio Conte is demanding a response in the Champions League tonight, says Murray

That is the view of Sky Sports pundit and former Premier League goalkeeper Matt Murray.

Chelsea have lost their last two games in the league to Manchester City and Crystal Palace.

They have won their first two matches in the Champions League though, including an impressive 1-0 win at Atletico Madrid.

But Murray says a win is vital tonight to stop their poor run in all competitions continuing.

“He’ll definitely need a reaction," Murray said of Conte.

Conte will want to do well in the Champions League as well, Chelsea are already nine points off the top of the Premier League

Matt Murray on Chelsea vs Roma

"When you’ve lost back-to-back games in the Premier League, alright Manchester City was tough, but to lose away to Crystal Palace, especially in the manner, Crystal Palace deserved that.

"So 100 per cent, he will need a reaction from his team.

"Will (Alvaro) Morata be fit? He will be big for them if he comes back in.

"It didn’t really happen for (Michy) Batshuayi against Crystal Palace.

"They’ll want to build on that (win over Atletico), they should be winning tonight.

Antonio Conte insists he's happy at Chelsea amid exit rumours

"It will be a tough game but if they can win it will really put them in a strong position in the group.

"Conte will want to do well in the Champions League as well, they’re already nine points off the top of the Premier League so I can’t see them closing that gap.

"This is a competition they need to do well in and no team, especially a team of Chelsea’s size, will want to lose three games in a row.

"So he will be expecting a reaction from his side."

Morata has returned from his hamstring injury and starts at Stamford Bridge.
