Chelsea vs Roma: Antonio Conte must sort out his side tactically, says Glenn Hoddle

That is the view of BT Sport pundit and former Chelsea manager and midfielder Glenn Hoddle.

The Blues dropped a two-goal lead against Roma to go 3-2 down, before Eden Hazard rescued a point.

Defeat would have been the third in a row for Chelsea in all competitions, the first time it would have happened since 2006.

Hoddle says the 1-0 defeat to Manchester City last month and the 3-3 draw this evening shows weaknesses tactically that Conte needs to sort out.

“I think the best thing we can say about Chelsea is that they were clinical," Hoddle said on BT Sport.

So if you’re going to play against Chelsea, then you’ve got a bit of hope because you can give them problems

"What four attempts at goal? Five attempts? Scoring three that’s some ratio.

"But there’s chinks there, they’ve got to sort that out tactically.

"City outdid them tactically, Roma have outdone them.

"Then when they changed a bit there was other things that we will come onto later that they got done from.

"They’ve got to sort this out, Antonio Conte.

“Yes, without a doubt (avoiding defeat was crucial).

"Especially with that record that we said, 11 years since they’ve done it. It will give them the confidence."
