Arsenal news: Troy Deeney told me two Gunners players he was not happy with - Martin Keown

ARSENAL legend Martin Keown has revealed Watford captain Troy Deeney told him two Gunners players that he “wasn’t happy with the reaction of” in the clash at Vicarage Road on Saturday.

Watford came from behind to beat Arsenal 2-1, condemning Arsene Wenger’s side to their third Premier League defeat of the season.

Deeney’s comments after the game have gone viral, with the forward claiming Arsenal lack ‘cojones’.

Keown was sitting alongside Deeney at the time in the BT Sport studio.

He says the 29-year-old mentioned the name of a couple of Arsenal players he was disappointed in off-air.

But Keown would not reveal the identity of the aforementioned Gunners.

“No no, I’m not going to break that confidence. 

“He wasn’t happy with the reaction of one or two players. 

“It’s interesting, because the body language of one or two players has been difficult to say the least.

“But how that effects the opposition is something I have not seen before. 

“He just felt ‘look, I’m just going to give it to them because I think they’ve got a soft centre’. 

“Really I wouldn’t be happy if that was said about me. 

“It’s about breeding the players now to be much stronger, certainly in the tackles.”
