That is the view of BT Sport pundit and former Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas.

Wilshere has returned to Arsenal this season following a season on-loan at Bournemouth.

The 25-year-old’s injury problems are well-documented, recovering from a broken leg in recent months.

He has impressed in his appearances this season, especially in the Europa League, but is yet to make an outing in the Premier League.

Arsenal have struggled particularly on the road in the league, scoring once in four games away from the Emirates.

Jack Wilshere is Arsenal's best midfielder for me

Jenas thinks Wilshere is the man who can bring the much-needed creativity to Arsene Wenger’s side.

“I do yeah (think he is the solution),” Jenas said.

“I think some of the players that have come into Arsenal over the last couple of years have been odd buys.

“I don’t think they have been Arsenal-type players.

“He’s their best midfielder for me, him alongside Santi Cazorla naturally are the two best midfielders they have got.

“Obviously the fitness has been a genuine issue for Jack.

“But as Martin says, it seems behind the scenes the word is he’s playing better than ever.

“I think that little experience at being away to Bournemouth has probably reiterated to him ‘I want to be back at Arsenal’.

“Sometimes you’ve got to go away to really appreciate where you’re at.”

Wilshere started Arsenal's Europa League clash with Red Star Belgrade this evening and helped them to a 1-0 win.
