Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo key to Gareth Bale sealing stunning Tottenham return

REAL MADRID will be forced to sacrifice Gareth Bale for Tottenham striker Harry Kane because Cristiano Ronaldo remains untouchable, according to reports.

Ronaldo nearly left Real Madrid back in the summer, with Manchester United and Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain being tipped to sign him.

However, the 32-year-old eventually ended up staying put, despite tax fraud allegations nearly forcing him to leave the Bernabeu behind.

In the time since, Real are being tipped to make Tottenham striker Kane their Galactic signing for next summer, with Ronaldo showing signs of waning.

And Spanish outlet Diario Gol say that the Portugal international’s status at the club means Gareth Bale is likely to be incorporated in any deal for Kane next summer.

Bale seems to be on borrowed time over at the Bernabeu.

The 28-year-old has been regularly crippled by injuries, missing large chunks of last season as the club won both La Liga and the Champions League.

Talk of a move to Manchester United continues to rumble on.

But Diario Gol say Ronaldo’s lofty status means Bale - or Karim Benzema - are likely to be included in any deal for Kane.

Meanwhile, speaking earlier this month, former Real Madrid manager John Toshack expressed fears over Bale’s Bernabeu future.

Real Madrid would sell Gareth Bale to sign Harry Kane

“Should he move to another club? Only people at Madrid will know about this but the demands at the Bernabeu are very, very high,” he said.

"If you are less than 100 per cent physically fit, it becomes even harder.

“He is now 28 and 11 years after making his debut with me at 17, these should be the best years of his life.

“The entire BBC (Bale, Benzema, Cristiano) now has problems and for various reasons, such as others now coming through, I’m unsure we’ll see much more of them together from now on.”
