THE Sky Sports coverage of Chelsea vs Watford was nearly taken down today - by a fire alarm!

Simon Thomas, Jamie Redknapp and Alan Pardew were in the studio as the alarm went off

Pundits Alan Pardew and Jamie Redknapp were discussing the clash at Stamford Bridge when disaster struck.

Redknapp was analysing the Premier League title race, saying: "Man City could take the league away from everyone in the next 10-15 games the way they are playing."

But midway through his sentence the alarms at the Bridge started blaring in the background.

Pardew, Redknapp and host Simon Thomas remained unfazed and continued as if nothing was going on.

Jamie Redknapp was the ultimate pro - keeping his cool as the fire alarm sounded

Pardew interrupts Redknapp and said: "City started very similar last year, there's a long, long way to go."

Redknapp, the consummate, unflustered pro, carried on as if nothing was going, saying: "There is but I think this Manchester City side is different to a certain extent.

"It doesn't feel right at the minute at Chelsea - the players, the manager is unhappy - and it's amazing how that transmits to the fans.

"They've got to win this one today. They can't afford not to get three points today."

Only at that point was the fire alarm mentioned - and fortunately there was no need for an evacuation.

Thomas said: "By the way, if you're wondering, that's not Jamie Redknapp's phone. That's the fire alarm - but we're all fine."

Redknapp then laughed: "It's not my phone, not this time!"
