Aston Villa have rejected a £5m bid from Manchester United for Keinan Davis

The Red Devils tried to beat Premier League rivals Arsenal and Everton to the 19-year-old hotshot but Villa Park bosses snubbed their offer, according to The Sun on Sunday newspaper.

Davis, picked up from non-league Biggleswade Town in 2015, is enjoying a breakthrough season.

He has scored twice in 10 appearances this term and is keeping £12m signing Scott Hogan out of Steve Bruce’s starting XI.

Davis signed a two-year deal with Villa in December 2016 after impressing for the club’s Under-23s.

Biggleswade Under-18 boss Dave Northfield believes Davis has all the attributes to succeed at the top.

”It's been an incredible journey,” Northfield said.

“”When Stevenage released him, they said he would never play professionally.

“But Keinan can play so many ways.

“He's strong and great at holding up the ball but he's also deceptively quick.”

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is interested in Keinan Davis

Former Villa striker to keep his feet on the ground following his rapid rise.

England cult hero Heskey said: “I’d tell Keinan to enjoy it!

“My advice would be soak it all up and take in all the advice you get.

“He needs to enjoy his football. The sport, especially nowadays, you can take it too seriously.

“When I say that, I mean enjoy it as much as you can as well as seeing it as your job.

“It was fun for me. I loved it. I played with a smile on my face.

“It’s also important to keep your feet on the ground and have the right people around you.

“My parents were great for that. I wasn’t allowed to do certain things. I had a good network around me. I have the same friends now that I had when I was young.

“My advice would be ‘this is your career, not someone else’s, so look after it’."
