According to The Sun on Sunday newspaper, Villa Park chiefs rejected the bid from their Old Trafford counterparts for the 19-year-old striker.

But chief executive Keith Wyness wrote on Twitter: “Utter rubbish, reporter should apologise.”

When asked by a fan whether the report of the bid was not true or whether it being rejected was false, Wyness replied: “Both complete fiction.”

The Sun on Sunday claim Premier League giants Arsenal and Everton are also monitoring Davis’ progress.

Villa snapped up Davis from non-league side Biggleswade Town in 2015.

He has broken into Steve Bruce’s starting XI this season, scoring twice in 10 appearances.

Biggleswade Under-18 gaffer Dave Northfield told The Sun on Sunday that Davis has the potential to make it to the top.

”It's been an incredible journey,” Northfield said.

“”When Stevenage released him, they said he would never play professionally.

“But Keinan can play so many ways.

“He's strong and great at holding up the ball but he's also deceptively quick.”

Former Villa striker needs to keep his feet on the ground following his rapid rise.

“My advice would be soak it all up and take in all the advice you get,” Heskey said.

“He needs to enjoy his football. The sport, especially nowadays, you can take it too seriously.

“When I say that, I mean enjoy it as much as you can as well as seeing it as your job.

“It was fun for me. I loved it. I played with a smile on my face.

“It’s also important to keep your feet on the ground and have the right people around you.

“My parents were great for that. I wasn’t allowed to do certain things. I had a good network around me. I have the same friends now that I had when I was young.”
