Tottenham news: Diego Maradona tells Harry Kane how he can become even more lethal

MARADONA offered Harry Kane some goalscoring advice when the pair met at Wembley.

The Argentina legend was at the victory over Liverpool yesterday.

Flanked by Spurs legend Ossie Ardiles, Maradona spoke to Kane and Hugo Lloris.

And Maradona told Tottenham striker Kane to switch up his shots, so goalkeepers can’t get used to what he does.

“Good luck, good luck,” he said. “Oh, and Harry don’t always go near post with your shots. Go across goal sometimes.

“You know why? Goalkeepers watch you on TV all the time. So next time… across!”

Tottenham beat Liverpool 4-1 with Kane at the double taking his tally to 12 club goals for the season.

And the England star admits meeting and chatting to the football legend can help inspire him to greatness.

“He was such a down-to-earth, great guy,” Kane said.

“That’s what it’s about, meeting these people, just feeling their good positive vibes and using that in my game, taking it on the pitch, enjoying it out there, enjoying football, enjoying the big occasion as it was today, and just putting out your best. That’s all you can do.

“He is one of the best No10s ever so it was great for him to be there at Wembley. He didn’t speak much English, and was just speaking in Spanish so I didn’t really understand what he was saying.

“But he was very energetic and said some nice compliments - not just to me but to the team and to the manager. It was great to be in the company of someone like that. What a player he was and I can only learn from someone like him.”
